New Metronomy
As you can tell by a lot of my posts, I’m a huge Metronomy fan. Here’s the latest single from the upcoming album The English Riviera. Can not wait to hear the LP when it’s out on April 11…

In 2008 I absolutely loved TV On The Radio’s album, Dear Science, and have been waiting for the day when they feed us some more musical amazingness. Finally, that day has come! Just in time for the weekend, the guys have put out their new single “Will Do” and it’s sounding pretty good. Enjoy the smooth track below.

OK, Depeche Mode’s “Strangelove” is amazing.. it doesn’t get any better than that opening.. right? It’s hard to think anyone else could ever do it justice but the lovely Bat For Lashes has just done a cover of the song for the men’s cologne, Gucci Guilty For Him. I am loving it! The song will probably be featured in a commercial for the cologne but until that comes out we can all enjoy it!

If you like Panda Bear, check out New Animal. They’re an Atlanta based band that has just put out a great 15 track debut album completely FREE on their bandcamp page.
It’s full of goodies..
Trouble Andrew is back with the ballad “New Kid”. It definitely has a different feel to it than his usual hectic, in your face, make you wanna drink all night tunes. Sounds like he’s been getting a bit of influence from his fiancé Santogold. I like it though. I’d say it’s a safe song that’s easy to head nod to. I’m interested to hear what the rest of the album will sound like… Dreams Of A Troubled Man comes out in March.

Yeasayer just put out a free EP for everyone on this beautiful Valentines Day! How Sweet! It features the track “I Remember” along with a few remixes of it.

Just in case you’ve been hiding under a rock and missed this, here’s The Strokes newest release “Under The Cover of Darkness”….
Local Natives recently did a great Take Away Show for the oh so popular La Blogotheque (I remember when no one knew about that site) and performed “Who Knows Who Cares” .. check it outttt.
Gotta tell ya, I’m loving being in NYC so far. I have seen some amazing shows in the short time I’ve been here. The Brooklyn-based Violens are a favorite band of mine who I’ve always wanted to see live but have never gotten the opportunity.. until last weekend! They did an impressive set at Cameo Gallery in Williamsburg last Friday. The venue itself has a massive tentacle-like chandelier hanging above the stage which is absolutely stunning and there was an all around great vibe throughout the night. Definitely glad I made the trek (well, not THAT far) out to see it!
Enjoy the short video I made below..
Super hooked on this remix of Oh Land’s “White Nights” by Twin Shadow.. I’m a huge Nanna Fabricius fan.. excited to see her live in March!
A few weeks ago I went and saw Country Mice and The Generationals at Mercury Lounge. It was such a fun show! Having never heard of Country Mice I went in with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised.. I grew up in the South and can definitely appreciate a little Southern twang-rock. Generationals rocked it and even had their own mini-entourage of friends who had come out to see them. Good times were had by all. How you can you not have fun at a show where a random brass band comes out of nowhere?!
Enjoy!

It’s been 5 years (can you believe it?!) since we’ve heard new music from The Strokes. They’ve just released a 30 second snippet from their new album Angles which is out March 22. It’s not a whole lot to go on but I’m excited to hear more…
