New Metronomy
As you can tell by a lot of my posts, I’m a huge Metronomy fan. Here’s the latest single from the upcoming album The English Riviera. Can not wait to hear the LP when it’s out on April 11…
New TV On The Radio- "Will Do"
In 2008 I absolutely loved TV On The Radio’s album, Dear Science, and have been waiting for the day when they feed us some more musical amazingness. Finally, that day has come! Just in time for the weekend, the guys have put out their new single “Will Do” and it’s sounding pretty good. Enjoy the smooth track below.

Bat For Lashes Covers Depeche Mode
OK, Depeche Mode’s “Strangelove” is amazing.. it doesn’t get any better than that opening.. right? It’s hard to think anyone else could ever do it justice but the lovely Bat For Lashes has just done a cover of the song for the men’s cologne, Gucci Guilty For Him. I am loving it! The song will probably be featured in a commercial for the cologne but until that...
New Animal
If you like Panda Bear, check out New Animal. They’re an Atlanta based band that has just put out a great 15 track debut album completely FREE on their bandcamp page. It’s full of goodies..
New Trouble Andrew
Trouble Andrew is back with the ballad “New Kid”. It definitely has a different feel to it than his usual hectic, in your face, make you wanna drink all night tunes. Sounds like he’s been getting a bit of influence from his fiancé Santogold. I like it though. I’d say it’s a safe song that’s easy to head nod to. I’m interested to hear what the rest of the...

Violens at Cameo Gallery
Gotta tell ya, I’m loving being in NYC so far. I have seen some amazing shows in the short time I’ve been here. The Brooklyn-based Violens are a favorite band of mine who I’ve always wanted to see live but have never gotten the opportunity.. until last weekend! They did an impressive set at Cameo Gallery in Williamsburg last Friday. The venue itself has a massive tentacle-like...
Country Mice and Generationals at Mercury Lounge
A few weeks ago I went and saw Country Mice and The Generationals at Mercury Lounge. It was such a fun show! Having never heard of Country Mice I went in with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised.. I grew up in the South and can definitely appreciate a little Southern twang-rock. Generationals rocked it and even had their own mini-entourage of friends who had come out to see them. Good times...
The Strokes "Under Cover of Darkness"
It’s been 5 years (can you believe it?!) since we’ve heard new music from The Strokes. They’ve just released a 30 second snippet from their new album Angles which is out March 22. It’s not a whole lot to go on but I’m excited to hear more…
Toro y Moi FACT Mix
Just when I thought Toro Y Moi (a.k.a. Chaz Bundick) couldn’t get any cooler, he goes and puts out a great mix for FACT Magazine. It’s the perfect way to start the weekend! Take a listen below then go to the website for a free download.

Fleet Foxes announce new album
Fleet Foxes’ beautiful self-titled debut (released in 2008) still gets regularly played on my iTunes. I have been eagerly awaiting word about some new music from them and the day has finally come! The boys have just announced that on May 3rd they will release Helplessness Blues on Sub Pop. There will be a tour (yay!) accompanying the new album as well.
Take a listen to the first single...
Metronomy "She Wants" Video
Metronomy have just put out the video for “She Wants” (from their forthcoming album The English Riviera) and it’s veryyy interesting! Nice to see a video that holds my attention.. the song is super catchy too..
Year of the Tiger
Nothing like some quality electro-rock to get your Sunday started! Meet Year of the Tiger. The Brooklyn trio just put out a pretty impressive little EP and I’m obsessing over it!
Have a listen below and then head over to their bandcamp page for a free download!
Peter, Bjorn and John - "Second Chance"
They’re backkkkk.. and from the sound of it Peter, Bjorn and John are ready to hit this one out of the park. “Second Chance” is the first single from their sixth album Gimme Some which comes out on Mach 29th. I am absolutely loving this track and hoping the rest of the album lives up to its standards. Take a listen and get hooked!
Listen to The Go! Team's new album!
There’s no such thing as being unhappy and listening to The Go! Team. Their cheerful songs can make any day better. On Feb. 1 The Go! Team is releasing their newest album Rolling Blackout but, lucky for you, it’s available for free stream until then! It’s some definite recommended listening. Get into it!
THE GO! TEAM - ROLLING BLACKOUTS by thegoteam
Those Dancing Days are back, and so am I.
First off, I’d like to say sorry for the lack of posts lately. I have relocated (yet, again) and it always takes some time to settle. But I’m back and looking forward to a fabulous music-filled 2011!
I haven’t heard from Those Dancing Days in a hot sec but the Swedish ladies have returned with the two new singles from their upcoming Daydreams & Nightmares (March 1st). I...
If MGMT and the XX had a child..
it would be The Naked and Famous. The band from New Zealand made a name for themselves at the end of 2010.. look forward to big things from them in 2011! Stay tuned..
take a listen to two favorites of mine “Punching in a Dream” and “Young Blood”.

New(ish) Shugo Tokumaru. How did I miss that?
I am a huge Shugo Tokumaru fan. So, I’m not really sure how this amazing album managed to slip under my radar! Port Entropy is brilliant, I would expect nothing less from the Japanese wonder boy.
Take a listen to “Rum hee” and “Lahaha”

… and they did a damn good job. I love it.
Toro y Moi "Still Sound"
Yesterday the super talented Toro y Moi (a.k.a. Columbia, SC native Chaz Bundick) released his newest track “Still Sound”. The song features live instrumentation, dreamy vocals and chill 70’s vibe. Sounds good to me. Underneath the Pine is out due Feb. 22, 2011 and, if “Still Sound” is any indication, it should be a bit funkier than his previous work. Can’t...
Teen Daze
Ohhh, Teen Daze. I love it when those crazy Canadians come up with something new & amazing. Enjoy the Lo-fi, beachy sounds of Teen Daze’s latest EP Beach Dreams. It’s available for download by donation (however much you want to pay.. you could just get it for free.. but always nice to support) on their bandcamp page.
Stream below! “Let’s Fall Asleep Together”...
White Wishes "Hold Your Hand"
Take a listen to this great track by the Berlin-based White Wishes and get cozy during this cold and, possibly, snowy winter. It’s in my iTunes on repeat… think warm thoughts…
Salman
Salman is a great little music project by two Japanese producers, Bazz and Kido Yoji. Amazingly, they got together purely by chance after contacting each other at the same time and decided it might worth collaborating. The idea behind Salman was “to create a band with border-less genres and have fun whilst doing it”. The end result were some happy, easy-to-listen-to pop tunes. ...
New Single from PJ Harvey "Written on the...
Here’s the first taste of amazingness from Let England Shake, PJ Harvey’s eighth studio album, which will be released in February of next year. Interesting fact: It was recorded in a 19th century church in Dorset and written mostly on an autoharp, rather than guitar or piano. Never one to be boring, Harvey’s experimentation has created something beautiful. Take a listen to...

The Informations "Lion's Hands"
Loving this track by Danish band The Informations. The video is (as expected) pretty bizarre but you’ll have the song on repeat before you know it.
Painted Palms
Painted Palms and their free EP Canopy are blowing my mind right now. Pretty much the only thing able to get me out of this day-after-Thanksgiving food coma! (Even though I’m in England I still made sure to organize a grand feast to share with new friends/family and say thanks!) The two cousins (Chris Prudhomme and Reese Donohue) from San Francisco did a great remix a few months ago of...
The Agitator and Marnie Stern Live at Thekla
Last Saturday I went out Thekla to see Marnie Stern and The Agitator perform. Both were full of so much energy, the crowd couldn’t stay still. Fun shows!! I put a video together from each performance, cheers!
The Shoes
I first discovered The Shoes a couple weeks ago but had yet to really listen to their music. Their brilliant little songs were just hanging out in my iTunes waiting to be appreciated. This morning I finally sorted through all my recent downloads and had a listen.. so good!!
The Shoes are an electronic dance duo coming out of France. They have a couple of songs floating around on the internet...
Dirty Gold
It’s always interesting for me to listen to and fall madly in love with a song.. only to later find out that the artists are barely legal! This is the case with brothers John and Lincoln Ballif a.k.a Dirty Gold. The San Diego-based band has yet to even graduate high school but they’re putting out some amazing 80’s afro-guitar inspired tunes. I am in awe of the amazing talent...
FREE Download of Girl Talk's new album
If you’re a fan of Girl Talk, it’s a good day for you! Girl Talk (aka Gregg Gillis) is offering a FREE (ah, I love that word) download of his new album All Day via his record label Illegal Art. It’s pretty similar format-wise to 2008’s Feed The Animals but, hey, when you find something that works.. stick with it. Great pump up music to listen to when you’re...
The Dears "Omega Dog"
“Omega Dog” is the first single from The Dears’ upcoming album, Degeneration Street (due out February 15). I’ve found myself pressing replay on it for quite awhile now. It’s more a musical journey than a mere “song”… see where it takes you. x
Beat! Beat! Beat!
I’m absolutely loving this track by the German band Beat! Beat! Beat!. Enjoy “We Are Waves” below along with a great remix I came acoss. x

Video of The Duke and The King Live in Bristol
When I found out that my dear friend Simone was coming to my current city of Bristol, I knew there was no way I could pass up going to see him perform again! His band, The Duke and The King, are one of my favorites to see live. Their performances are filled with so much emotion… truly music for the soul. My shaky-handed video doesnt really do the show justice.. but you can get a brief...
"Mykonos" Gets a Dubstep Remix-over
When you hear Fleet Foxes you think beautiful, easy, folk tunes… not dubstep. I’ve never heard of Barbaric Merits until now but they’ve done an amazing job turning “Mykonos” into a danceable track while staying true to the song and keeping it recognizable. Bravo!
